John Bravender (bravende@engin.umich.edu) is a student in the Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences department at the University of Michigan. His emphasis in the department is meteorology. More specifically, he is interested in weather forecasting and eventually hopes to get a job as an operational forecaster. John joined the Windows team in May of 1997. His main focus was content pages about Earth's atmosphere, but he has since drifted through the Ask-A-Scientist section and now is handling the Headline Universe section.

Some of John's activities include the National Collegiate Weather Forecasting Competition, the Society of Earth and Space Students and the English Composition Board's peer tutor program. Outside of the university, he volunteers at the Detroit/Pontiac Office of the National Weather Service and is a member of Civil Air Patrol.

If you're still interested in learning more about John or are tired of a third-person dialogue, you can visit his homepage. He's probably still stuck there...
