BSTARS will bring together over 100 bilingual science teachers from the Denver metropolitan region and Veracruz, Mexico, who teach in schools with large populations of Spanish speaking students.

The goal is to support teachers in achieving science education excellence in their schools.

BSTARS participants will:
  • Receive bilingual geoscience lessons plans immediately useful in their classrooms
  • Explore and practice hands-on science inquiry activities
  • Build networks and collaborations
Mini-workshop topics include:
  • Science and Literacy
  • Scientific Inquiry
  • Weather and Climate
  • Earth System Science
  • Sun-Earth Connections and Magnetism
  • Activities Share-a-thon
BSTARS includes tours of NCAR’s exhibits on Weather, Climate, and Supercomputing.
