Project Timeline for 2009

Because of the continued excitement and robust participation during our early years, we are expanding the Project BudBurst Web site with new features for 2009! Read about the current changes or see below for description and anticipated completion dates:

New Phenophase Field Guides

Print and use these new guides in the field with detailed information including photographs for making phenological observations. Visit the Resources section for the Phenophase Field Guides for all Project BudBurst plant species.

Updated Plant Identification Guides

Identifiy the Project BudBurst plants in your local area with our updated Plant Identification Guides. A new section on identification hints has also been added. Visit the Resources section for the identification Guides for all Project BudBurst plant species.

New Project BudBurst plants and phenohases to observe

Observe more Project BudBurst plants and phenophases. New plants added to the existing list of Project BudBurst plants. These plants were selected because they are easy to identify and widespread throughout the continental United States. Visit the plant list to view all the Project BudBurst plants and the phenophase observations of interest.

Real-time mapping with Google Maps

View the latest reports of blooming and leafing across the nation. Visit the results page to view the latest 100 observations reported to Project BudBurst. View the current state of each plant species for this year by visiting the Resource section and selecting a plant.

Photo sharing of plant observations

Share your photos of the leafing and flowering of plants with all of the Project BudBurst community. Visit the Photo Gallery for selected photographs and information on how to share your photos with us.
