Visible light is a mixture of many different colors. These colors include red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. You can see light split into these different colors if you look at a rainbow or at sunlight passing through a prism. Light moves very, very fast. All kinds of light move at the same speed in empty space.

Our eyes are the most sensitive to light in the yellow-green part of the spectrum. It should be no surprise that the sun's light peaks here as well.
