Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin

Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin is an American astronaut who was born in New Jersey in 1930. He was nicknamed Buzz by his sister. Before entering space Aldrin was a fighter pilot who flew in the Korean war. He logged over 2900 hours of flying time.

Aldrin became an astronaut in 1963. In 1966, he was a pilot of Gemini 12, which was the last Gemini mission. In July of 1969, Aldrin became the second person to walk on the moon aboard this flight. He has logged over 288 hours in space.
