Roger Chaffee

Roger Chaffee was an American astronaut who was born on February 15, 1935, in Michigan. Before he became an astronaut, Chaffee was a Naval pilot. He has flown over 2300 hours on several different aircraft.

Chaffee became an astronaut in 1963. He was one of the three astronauts killed in a flash fire aboard the Apollo 1 spacecraft during training.
