John Creighton

John Creighton is an American astronaut who was born on April 28, 1943 in Texas. Before he became an astronaut, Creighton was a Naval pilot. He has flown over 6000 hours.

Creighton became an astronaut in 1978. He has spent over 403 hours in space on 3 spaceflights.

Creighton made his first spaceflight aboard Mission 51-G in 1985. The crew put three satellites into space. In 1990, Creighton commanded STS 36. This was a Department of Defense mission. Creighton flew aboard STS-48 in 1991. During this mission, the crew put the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite into orbit.
