Charles Duke

Charles Duke was an American astronaut who was born on October 3, 1935, in North Carolina. Before he became an astronaut, Duke was an Air Force pilot. He flew over 4200 hours on planes.

Duke became an astronaut in 1966. He has spent over 264 hours in space on 1 spaceflight.

In 1972, Duke became the tenth person to walk on the moon during the Apollo 16 mission. Duke and fellow astronaut John Young spent three days on the moon.
