Bonnie Dunbar

Bonnie Dunbar is an American astronaut who was born on March 3, 1949, in Washington. Before she became an astronaut, Dunbar was an engineer.

Dunbar became an astronaut in 1981. She has spent over 761 hours in space on 3 spaceflights.

In 1985, Dunbar made her first spaceflight aboard Spacelab. The crew performed several tests during this week-long mission. She made her second flight aboard STS-32 in 1990. She helped capture a satellite.

In 1992, Dunbar made her longest flight aboard STS-50. The crew spent two weeks aboard the Microgravity Laboratory.
