Guy Gardner

Guy Gardner is an American astronaut who was born on January 6, 1948, in Virginia. Before he became an astronaut, Gardner was an Air Force pilot. He has flown over 4000 hours.

Gardner became an astronaut in 1980. He has spent over 321 hours in space on 2 spaceflights.

Gardner made his first spaceflight aboard STS-27, in 1988. He piloted Space Shuttle Atlantis on a four day flight. In 1990, Gardner flew aboard STS-35. The crew put Spacelab into space.
