Owen Garriott

Owen Garriott is an American astronaut who was born on November 22, 1930, in Oklahoma. Before he became an astronaut, Owen Garriott was a professor.

Owen Garriott became an astronaut in 1965. He has spent over 1675 hours in space on 2 spaceflights.

In 1973, Garriott flew aboard the second Skylab mission. During this 60 day mission, the crew studied the sun and medicine. Garriott made his second flight aboard Spacelab 1 in 1983. Over 70 tests were performed during this mission.
