Sidney Gutierrez

Sidney Gutierrez is an American astronaut who was born on June 27, 1951, in New Mexico. Before he became an astronaut, Gutierrez served as an Air Force pilot.

Gutierrez became an astronaut in 1984. He has spent over 218 hours in space on one spaceflight. In 1991, Gutierrez flew aboard STS-40. During this Spacelab mission, seven astronauts performed several experiments on the life sciences.
