Jeffrey Hoffman is an astronaut who was born on November 2, 1944, in New York.

Hoffman became an astronaut in 1978. He has spent over 1211 hours on 5 spacecraft.

In 1985, Hoffman made his first spaceflight aboard Mission 51-D. He made 4 hour spacewalk during this mission. Hoffman flew aboard STS-35 in 1990. The crew studied deep space.

Hoffman made his third spaceflight aboard STS-46 in 1992. In 1993, he flew aboard STS-61. The crew repaired the Hubble Space Telescope. In 1996, Hoffman made his last spaceflight aboard STS-75.
