Marsha Ivins is an American astronaut who was born on April 15, 1951, in Maryland.

Ivins became an astronaut in 1985. She has spent over 1009 hours in space on four flights.

In 1990, Ivins made her first spaceflight aboard STS-32. The crew put a communication satellite into orbit. She flew aboard STS-46 in 1992.

Ivins made her third flight in 1994, aboard STS-62. Ivins flew aboard STS-81 in 1997. The crew docked with the Russian Mir Space Station for 8 days.
