Tamara Jernigan

Tamara Jernigan is an American astronaut who was born on May 7, 1959, in Tennessee.

Jernigan became an astronaut in 1985. She has spent over 1227 hours in space on four spaceflights.

In 1991, Jernigan flew aboard STS-40. Jernigan made her second spaceflight in 1992 aboard STS-52. The crew studied the Earth.

In 1995, she flew aboard STS-67. The crew studied deep space objects. Jernigan made her last flight in 1996 aboard STS-80.
