Kevin Kregel is an American astronaut who was born on September 16, 1956, in New York. Before he became an astronaut, Kregel was a pilot.

Kregel became an astronaut in 1990. He spent over 618 hours in space on two spaceflights.

In 1995, Kregel made his first spaceflight as pilot of STS-72. He flew aboard STS-78 in 1996. This international mission sponsored 10 nations. He will command STS-87 in 1997.
