The most important motions in the atmosphere are winds. The major winds in Saturn's atmosphere are the zonal winds which are composed of alternating belts and zones flowing in opposite directions.

Belts are low pressure systems and zones are high pressure systems wrapped around the entire planet. The bands near the equator of Saturn are very large. Small circular systems or storms also occur periodically in Saturn's atmosphere.
