Recent Solar Images

See below for image credits
Here are a set of recent images of the Sun at various wavelengths, taken by the SOHO and Yohkoh spacecraft, the National Solar Observatories at Kitt Peak and Sacramento Peak, and the Mauna Loa and Mees Solar Observatories in Hawaii. Images update periodically, and occasionally an instrument will experience difficulties which may cause an image to be missing or be older than other images displayed here.

Visit our Solar Space Weather section to get more information about what these images tell us about what's happening on the Sun and where these emissions come from in the solar atmosphere.
