Our Moon

You bring us sunlight in the night
Our only natural satellite
I am inclined to call it moonshine
But that might just be out of line!

Your pulling force exceeds the sun's
In spite of size much smaller
How can this make sense to me?...
...Because you're so much closer

For rising water by our shores
Fundy Spring tides set the mark
The moon keeps tugging on our skin
There's ebb and flow in light and dark

This balance is so delicate
For coastal people everywhere
Some things on land may disappear
With minor changes way up there!
