Desert Birds |
Did you know that many species of birds live in the desert? You have probably heard of the roadrunner or seen the cartoon. The roadrunner is a real bird that lives in the desert! It prefers to run rather than fly! Some birds live inside the giant saguaro cactus. They make a hole inside to keep cool. The sandgrouse is very different. It has special feathers that soak up water! It carries the water to the babies in the nest.
