For four months, from February to June of 2007, a team of explorers and educators led by Will Steger explorered Baffin Island, a remote area of northern Canada in the North Polar Region to learn about the effects of global warming on the Arctic tundra and the Inuit who live there. They traveled across the land by dog sled. This video shows scenes from a day in the expedition when the group got to the village of Qikiqtarjuaq, a community of 450 residents. Learn more about the expedition by visiting the Will Steger Foundation Expedition Links online. (Note: If you cannot see the movie you may need to download the latest QuickTime player.) |
