Orion was a giant hunter. The ancient Greeks believed his father was the sea god Poseidon. From his father, Orion received the ability to walk on the sea. Orion was also a very handsome and strong man.

He was such a good hunter that he was hired by the king of the island Chios to kill the beasts that were scaring all the people. Once while Orion was chasing wild animals, he met the beautiful Pleiades, who were with their mother Pleione. Orion fell so much in love with them, that he began to chase them day after day.

After five years, the Pleiades were so tired that Zeus changed them first into doves to let them fly, and then into stars.
