Persephone |
Her mother Demeter wandered the world in search of her. When she learned what happened, Demeter pleaded with Zeus to obtain the release of her daughter. Persephone ate some seeds of a fruit during her stay in the lower world, and this prevented her to leave forever. Persephone was allowed to spend half of each year on Earth with her mother, and the other half in the Underworld with Hades.
