Jim Bagian

Jim Bagian is an American astronaut who was born on February 22, 1952 in Pennsylvania. Before he became an astronaut, Bagian was an engineer and a medical doctor.

Bagian became an astronaut in 1980. He has made two space flights and has logged over 337 hours in space.

In 1989, Bagian flew aboard Discovery on a 5-day mission. Bagian became the first person to treat Space Motion Sickness to a fellow astronaut while in space.

In 1991, Bagian served on the crew of the Life Sciences Spacelab mission. Bagian performed experiments on how microgravity affects the human body.
