Mark Brown

Mark Brown is an American astronaut who was born on November 18, 1951 in Indiana. Before he became an astronaut, Brown was a pilot for the Air Force.

Brown began working for NASA as an aerospace engineer in 1980. In 1985, he became an astronaut. He has logged 249 hours in space from two spaceflights.

In 1989, Brown flew aboard STS-28 in a Department of Defense mission. In 1991, Brown helped deploy the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite aboard shuttle Discovery.
