Jan Davis is an American astronaut who was born on November 1, 1953, in Florida. Before she became an astronaut, Davis worked as a petroleum engineer. Davis became an astronaut in 1987. She has spent over 389 hours in space on two spaceflights. In 1992, Davis flew aboard STS-47. The crew conducted several experiments in materials and life science research. Davis made her second spaceflight in 1994 aboard STS-60. This was the first Space Shuttle flight with a Russian cosmonaut on board. Davis is scheduled to make her next spaceflight in July 1997 aboard STS-85. |
