Charles Fullerton

Charles Fullerton is an American astronaut who was born on October 11, 1936, in New York. Before he became an astronaut, Charles Fullerton served as a pilot for the Air Force. He has logged over 11,200 hours of flight time in 84 types of aircraft.

Charles Fullerton became an astronaut in 1966. He has spent over 380 hours in space on two spaceflights.

In 1982, Fullerton piloted STS-3. During this mission, the crew tested the new remote manipulator arm. In 1985, he commanded Spacelab 2. The crew made several experiments during this mission.

Fullerton currently pilots airplanes that launch satellites into orbit.
