Marc Garneau is an astronaut who was born on February 23, 1949, in Canada. Before he became an astronaut, Garneau worked with Naval weapons systems. Garneau became a Canadian astronaut in 1983. He flew aboard Mission 41-G in 1984 for Canada. He was the first Canadian in space. In 1992, Garneau became an astronaut for NASA. In 1996, he flew aboard STS-77. During this mission, the crew deployed two satellites. Garneau has spent over 437 hours in space on these two spaceflights. |
