Carl Meade is an astronaut who was born on November 16, 1950, in Illinois.

Meade became an astronaut in 1985. He has spent over 712 hours on 3 spacecraft.

In 1990, Meade made his first spaceflight aboard STS-38. This was a Department of Defense mission. Meade flew aboard STS-50 in 1992. This 14-day mission carried the first Microgravity Lab.

In 1994, Meade flew aboard STS-64. He made a 4-hours spacewalk during this mission.
