Rakesh Sharma
Rakesh Sharma was a cosmonaut who was born on January 13, 1949, in India.
Before he became a cosmonaut, Sharma was a test pilot.
Sharma became a cosmonaut in 1982. He became the first citizen of India
to go into space when he flew aboard Soyuz T-11 in 1984. The crew spent
seven days on the Salyut space station.
