Rodolfo Neri Vela

Rodolfo Neri Vela is an astronaut who was born on February 19, 1952, in Mexico. Before he became an astronaut, Vela worked as an electrical engineer.

Vela became an astronaut in 1985. He was the first Mexican in space when he flew aboard Mission 61-B in 1985. He helped deploy a Mexican satellite.
