James Wetherbee is an American astronaut who was born on November 27, 1952, in New York. Before he became an astronaut, Wetherbee was a Naval pilot. He has logged over 3500 hours of flight time. Wetherbee became an astronaut in 1985. He has spent over 696 hours in space aboard three spacecraft. In 1990, Wetherbee made his first spaceflight aboard STS-32. The crew deployed a satellite during this mission. In 1992, he flew aboard STS-52. Wetherbee made his third flight in 1995 aboard STS-63. The crew visited the Russian Mir Space Station during this mission. |
