Pentre Ifan Dolmen Tomb

These wonderfully balanced rocks mark a tomb in Wales.

Ancient people all over the world built stone structures. Some of the stone structures marked graveyards for these people. In Wales, there are some stones named Pentre Ifan that mark a grave.

There is one big rock that balances on other rocks. Can you imagine building a play fort out of rocks this big? The big rock is held eight feet off the ground, so there would be plenty of room for you to walk through Pentre Ifan!

Pentre Ifan is really old. It is from around 3,500 B.C. That's older than Stonehenge!

There is a story about Pentre Ifan that say that fairies come and visit it. They wear red caps. Can you make up a story to tell your parents about Pentre Ifan?
